Merlet Brothers, Blended Cognac
40.0% | 70.0cl
The Merlet family has been distilling eaux-de-vie in the Cognac region since 1850, building its reputation over five generations. Brothers Blend was created by Gilles Merlet and his sons, Pierre and Luc, after they joined the family business and began developing their own range of Cognacs. Launched in 2010, it was named in tribute to the collaboration between the two brothers and represents a more contemporary, fruit-forward style of Cognac.
Made from eaux-de-vie aged for a minimum of four years, the blend is predominantly Fins Bois, with around a fifth coming from Grande Champagne. Younger eaux-de-vie bring freshness and energy, while older components add complexity and maturity. Much of the ageing takes place in older oak barrels, allowing the fruit character to remain at the forefront.
Tasting Note
Elegant and fruit-forward, with aromas of candied apricot, quince, white flowers, cinnamon and vanilla. The palate is smooth and supple, with ripe peach and apricot, subtle oak and gentle spice. Fresh, beautifully balanced and approachable, with a long, delicate finish.
