Cloudy Bay, Pinot Noir
Marlborough | New Zealand
From the famous Cloudy Bay estate, this is a complex wine with cherry, cranberry and bramble fruit flavours layered with spice, tobacco & savoury notes.
About the Producer
Our Pinot Noir comes from the cool clay soils and rolling, north-facing slopes of Marlborough’s Southern Valleys region. The aged alluvial gravels and dense clay subsoils balance drainage and water availability to yield the region’s best Pinot Noir grapes. Key blocks include the Mustang, Delta and Barracks vineyards.
The grapes are de-stemmed and put into open-top fermenters with wild yeast. Some whole bunches are included to build structure. The final wine is an elegant, complex and fine-boned expression of Marlborough’s soils and Cloudy Bay’s vision.

The Cloudy Bay Estate was named after the bay where James Cook anchored in 1770, which he called “Cloudy Bay” due to the weather conditions that day.
