About the Producer
The De Bortoli family story is one of determination, beginning 90 years ago and now told across Australia. It reflects the immigrant journey, the rise of Australian wine, and a family’s love for good wine, food, and friends. Now in its fourth generation, De Bortoli is among Australia’s top producers, with vineyards in six premium regions. A wet winter cut yields by 35%. A cool, dry ripening season led to a long, even ripening, with the latest harvest on record—starting four weeks late. Much of the juice was handled oxidatively to enhance ripe stone fruit character. Some parcels underwent malolactic fermentation. Wines were left on light lees to build creaminess and weight.
Ageing
The wines are left on light primary and secondary lees to add creaminess and weight.
