Made by The Cornish Distilling Co. at Norton Barton near Bude, Morvenna Spiced is a premium rum fermented, distilled and bottled entirely in Cornwall. The distillery, founded by Richard and Fionagh Harding with distiller Tom Read, is one of the few in Britain to produce rum completely from scratch, giving them control over the flavour from fermentation through to bottling.
The name Morvenna has strong Cornish connections, referring to Saint Morwenna, patron saint of nearby Morwenstow, while Morven translates as “sea maiden” or “mermaid” in Cornish. The rum takes a more refined, botanical approach to spicing, using natural herbs and spices rather than the heavy sweetness often associated with spiced rum.

Tasting Note

Dry and aromatic, with fragrant lemongrass, ripe apricot and delicate saffron on the nose. The palate is smooth and botanical, with layers of apricot, lemongrass and saffron followed by subtle cardamom and gentle oak. Complex, warming and beautifully balanced, with a long, dry finish.
