Lantic Winter Foraged Oak Gin
41.5% | 70.0cl
Lantic Gin is the creation of self-taught distiller Alex Palmer-Samborne, who began experimenting with a tiny 2-litre copper still in a Cornish barn after becoming fascinated by the wild botanicals he encountered on coastal walks. The first Lantic Gin was developed from this hands-on experimentation, inspired by the landscape around Lantic Bay and the changing seasons of the Cornish coast.
Today, Skylark Distillery at Lostwithiel produces Lantic’s small-batch, seasonal spirits using traditional one-shot distillation in copper pot stills, Virginia and Margaret. Local foraged botanicals are combined with classic gin botanicals and pure Cornish spring water, creating spirits that genuinely reflect their Cornish origins.
A wonderfully individual Cornish distillery where foraging, seasonality and a genuine sense of place are at the heart of every bottle.
Tasting Note
Lantic Winter Foraged Gin is a rich, warming Cornish gin that captures the flavours of the autumn hedgerow. Wild rowan berries, blackberries, Kea plums, crab apples, pears and rosehips are combined with classic gin botanicals, then the spirit is rested in French oak casks. Expect juicy hedgerow fruit and orchard notes, balanced by juniper and gentle spice, with sweet oak and a long, warming finish. Complex, seasonal and distinctly Cornish.
