Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée NV
Champagne | France
A rich, bready Champagne showing toast and biscuit flavours, balanced by fresh golden apple notes.
About the Producer
Bollinger’s renowned quality earned it the first Royal Warrant in Champagne from the Court of England in 1884, held ever since. Celebrated as James Bond’s Champagne for over 40 years, Bollinger owns 178ha with 85% Grand and Premier Cru vines, producing most of its own grapes. Pinot Noir makes up 60% of the vineyards and the Special Cuvée blend. The estate includes phylloxera-resistant plots Clos Saint-Jacques and Chaudes Terres, sources of the Vieilles Vignes Françaises. Special Cuvée blends fresh harvest with reserve wines aged over 15 years in magnums.

Fun Fact
In 1911, Bollinger’s British agent gave the idea for the name Special Cuvée – “special” written the English way, without an accent. He felt “Brut sans année” was a bit much for a delicate wine.
