Valpolicella Ripasso Biscardo
Veneto | Italy

Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Sun-dried grapes (Ripasso), resulting in an opulent, velvet-smooth wine bursting with rich cherry fruit.
About the Producer
The Biscardo Family has crafted wines in Soave for over 150 years, now led by brothers Maurizio and Martino. Maurizio’s extensive career includes consulting for top Italian wineries, where he discovered vineyards in Puglia. Both their Puglian and Veneto wines offer aromatic purity, drinkability, and excellent value. The Valpolicella Ripasso vineyards sit on Verona’s hills at 150–250m altitude, with soils rich in calcareous content and stones. Grapes are hand-picked in wooden cases at dawn or late evening to avoid heat. Ripasso wines gain extra structure and fruit from the sun-dried grape skins.
Ageing
12 months in Oak bariques, with a light refinement in barriques.
Food Pairing
Pair with mushroom dishes, such as mushroom risottos, or with slightly spiced sausages and hard cheeses.
