Hoxton London Dry Gin is distilled by Hoxton Distillery, founded in 2013 in Hackney, East London. The urban distillery aims to reflect the creativity and innovation of its neighbourhood through its gins.
The Production Process
Hoxton Gin begins with a base spirit made from French wheat. This is distilled with eight botanicals including juniper, coriander, grapefruit, lemon peel, orange peel, tarragon and ginger. The botanicals are vapour infused in a copper still to extract the essential flavours. The gin is then rested in stainless steel tanks before being bottled at 40% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Zesty citrus notes of lemon, lime and pink grapefruit balanced by earthy juniper, spice and ginger.
Palate: Bursts of citrus up front lead into piney juniper and peppery coriander. Hints of tarragon and ginger add interest.
Finish: Lingering zest of citrus oils and warm spice on the finish.
