Cloudy Bay, ‘Pelorus’, Sparkling Brut
Marlborough | New Zealand
Pale straw in colour with aromas of ripe citrus fruits. The bouquet of apple and lemon complements the fresh bready notes.
About the Producer
Cloudy Bay farms 163 parcels of vines and works with 65 grower blocks. Those parcels closer to the Wairau River have stony, sandy and free-draining soils ideal for the iconic Sauvignon Blanc. Further south of the river in the Southern Valleys, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards love the heavy clay-based soils. These soils and Marlborough’s maritime climate work in harmony to set the stage for Cloudy Bay’s captivating style of wine: intense, fresh and expressive.

Fun Fact
The Cloudy Bay Estate was named after the bay where James Cook anchored in 1770, which he called “Cloudy Bay” due to the weather conditions that day.
