Back in 2018 we had so many requests for Rhubarb Gin that we spent a lot of time searching for the right one to no avail. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty out there but most of them are gin liqueurs which are popular but not for the purest who prefers their gin closer to 40% abv and not overly sweet and confected.
We were about to give up on my search and then we discovered Slingsby Yorkshire Rhubarb Gin made from the same base of their award-winning London Dry Gin and masterfully infused with the finest Yorkshire rhubarb sourced from the famous ‘Rhubarb Triangle’.
At a decent 40% abv this gin has an initial sweetness of rhubarb and raspberry which is followed by the bitter tang of the pink grapefruit citrus base. A tart rhubarb finish rounds off the drink, leaving an unforgettable flavour on the palate. Enjoy with premium elderflower tonic water, on ice with a fresh raspberry to finish. Cocktail lovers may like to try the Rhubarb and Raspberry Gin Mule.
