Tanduay Gold Rum originates from Tanduay Distillers Inc, the longest established rum producer in Asia. Founded in 1854 in the Philippines, Tanduay has over 150 years of experience expertly crafting premium aged rums. The distillery uses time-honoured techniques passed down through generations, as well as modern innovations, to create their multi-award winning rums.

The Crafting Process

For Tanduay Gold Rum, Tanduay starts with their signature white rum made from the finest Philippine molasses. This rum is then aged for up to 12 long years in charred American white oak barrels. The tropical Philippine climate allows for optimal maturation, with the intense heat concentrating the rum as the angel’s share evaporates at a quick pace from the barrels.

The charred oak imparts notes of spice, vanilla and toasted sugar, while the extended maturation develops rich flavours of molasses, honeyed fruits, and butterscotch. Tanduay’s expert master blenders carefully select and blend rums to create the consummate sipping rum. Each batch is then filtered to perfect a smooth, balanced and honey-hued rum.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Robust aromas of molasses, butterscotch and toasted oak leap from the glass. Stewed stone fruits, vanilla and cake spice notes develop with time.

Palate: Thick and viscous on the palate with a silky, oily texture. Massive flavours of treacle, baked apples and buttery toffee pudding. Hints of cacao, coconut and toasted almond.

Finish: Enduring finish of charred oak, pipe tobacco, dark chocolate and spices that lingers long after the last sip.

Tanduay Gold Rum makes for ideal neat sipping or luxurious rum Old Fashioneds.
For a sublime serve, pour 50ml of Tanduay Gold over a large ice cube in a rocks glass. Add 2-3 dashes of Angostura bitters and garnish with an orange twist.
