About the Producer
Perdeberg Group, founded in 1941 and based beneath the Paardeberg Mountain in Paarl, is one of South Africa’s leading wine producers and exporters. Our dryland bush vines yield small berries with intense colour, structure, and bold flavour—thanks to natural vineyard practices and diverse soils of granite, sandstone, and shale. Vines average 15 years with yields of 8 tonnes/ha. The 2024 harvest began two weeks early due to wind-reduced yields and warm February temperatures, yet quality remains excellent. After destemming, juice saw two hours of skin contact; only free-run juice was used. 70% was fermented in stainless steel and aged on lees. No malolactic.
Ageing
6 months: 500-litre French oak barrels on the lees.
Food Pairing
Enjoy with green salads, seafood, lightly flavoured pasta, or semi-firm aged goat’s cheese.
