Little Cricket, Grüner Veltliner

Pannon | Hungary

A pale straw colour with typical light aromas of tropical fruits and a hint of honey. The palate is also light and very dry, but with a balanced sharpness and good structure of lingering crisp apples and zesty citrus with a medium-long finish.

About the Producer

The Latin for Hungarian cricket is “Locusta petulans”, which roughly means clever cricket. Its favoritefood includes the leaves of vine tendrils. But not just any kind of leaves. Research has shown that there are certain varieties of grapes whose leaves the clever cricket will not touch. These are primarily the leaves of the Gru Gruner Veltliner variety. That is why we decided to dedicate this wine from the Gruner Veltliner to that clever cricket.
