Jane Hunter Estate, Hunter’s Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough | New Zealand

Produced and bottled in a family-owned, family-run winery. Herbaceous green pepper, lime and passion fruit. Classically Marlborough.
About the Producer
Ever since the ebullient Irishman Ernie Hunter founded the brand back in 1979, Hunter’s has done things a little differently. And while, as an early adopter, it was partly responsible for the wave of NZ ‘Savvy B’ to hit these shores over the last 40 years, its signature style is more rounded than the Marlborough stereotype. Sourcing entirely from its own vineyards, Hunter’s generally crops at lower yields than many producers, and picks some of its fruit late in the vineyard cycle, to ensure full phenolic ripeness. As a result, its Sauvignon tends towards fuller, tropical notes rather than the exaggerated, wince-inducing, cat’s pee end of the spectrum.
