Fun Fact
Irene Morales was a seamstress who showed remarkable courage during the War of the Pacific in the late 1800s. Defying gender norms of the time, she disguised herself as a man to fight on the front lines. Morales was the first woman to become a sergeant in the Chilean army and wear a military uniform. She became a symbol of women’s bravery and contributions to Chile’s independence.
