About the Producer

Malmsey, Madeira’s most famous style, is made from the Malvasia Candida grape, widely planted in the Mediterranean. This rich, sweet Madeira offers fine tangy fruitiness and is traditionally enjoyed with coffee, nuts, or fruit cake, making an ideal digestif. The Henriques family has made wine since the 15th century, founding Henriques and Henriques in 1850. Now Madeira’s largest independent producer, most grapes come from their vineyards around Camara de Lobos, famed for top-quality fruit. Their modern winery uses stainless steel vats and pneumatic presses, producing outstanding Madeiras.
