False Bay, ‘Bush Vine’, Pinotage
Coastal Region | South Africa

Black cherry and strawberry with hints of liquorice on the nose. Complex wild fruit crumble flavours with a herbaceous note.
About the Producer
The grapes for False Bay Bush Vine Pinotage come from a single dry-farmed bush vine vineyard in coastal Stellenbosch, planted in 1996. Cooler conditions and small, concentrated berries drew us to this site. Made by Waterkloof’s Cellarmaster Nadia Langenegger, the hand-harvested grapes ferment spontaneously with wild yeast and age in large French oak foudre. The result is a Pinotage that’s more ‘Pino’ than ‘Tage’—pure, balanced, and expressive. No additives beyond a touch of sulphur. Vegan friendly. Sustainably farmed, hand picked, wild fermented, cask aged. A richly fruited yet savoury wine with real coastal character.
Food Pairing
Perfect with pork belly dishes or barbecued meats, boerwurst, game or good, old fashioned sausage and mash.
