About the Producer
The Danube winds through Austria’s Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for medieval villages and castles. Domaine Wachau, an iconic producer, cultivates Grüner Veltliner and Riesling on terraced vineyards along the steep riverbanks. Awarded DAC status in 2020, the region’s wines gain formal recognition for quality and style. The Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Terrassen grapes are hand-picked from steep terraces, showcasing fresh fruit and pronounced minerality. Grapes are pressed pneumatically, fermented at controlled temperatures, and aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
