Delaforce White Port is produced by Real Companhia Velha, one of the oldest Port houses located in the heart of the Douro Valley. Founded in 1756, Real Companhia Velha crafts premium Ports from the finest Douro vineyards. The company is known for making elegant, complex White Ports that showcase the aromatic potential of indigenous grapes.
Viticulture and Production
The grapes for Delaforce White Port come from old vines planted on steep, rocky slopes overlooking the Douro River. The hot, dry climate results in grapes with concentrated flavours. After hand harvesting, the grapes are pressed and fermented without skin contact to retain freshness and prevent colour extraction. Fermentation is halted by fortification with grape spirit to leave optimal residual sugar.
Tasting Notes
Delaforce White Port shows a brilliant lemon-gold colour.
The expressive nose offers inviting aromas of citrus, stone fruits and floral notes.
On the palate, flavours of peach, gentle nectarine and zesty lemon mingle with honeyed complexity.
The sweetness is perfectly balanced by vibrant acidity.
