100% old vine Merlot from a tiny parcel of exceptional terroir. Inky black with intense, ripe, sweet fruit. Concentrated and very classic with generous oak, bramble fruit and fine tannins.
About the Producer
A 0.56 hectare vineyard of high viticultural quality and exceptional terroir with 60 year old Merlot vines. Single guyot pruning,de-budding, green harvesting, only natural vine treatments. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted yielding between 30-35 hl per hectare. 50% of the wine is fermented in tank with “pigeage” and 3-4 weeks post-fermentation maceration, the other 50% is fermented in barriques with a maceration of 5-6 weeks after which the wine is aged in new oak for 12-15 months.
