Champagne Deutz Brut Vintage 2012: A Sophisticated Vintage Champagne

Champagne Deutz Brut Vintage 2012 is produced by the historic Champagne house Deutz, founded in 1838 and located in Ay, France. Deutz follows traditional, meticulous methods to create elegant, complex Champagnes expressing the true potential of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Their vintage cuvées highlight the singular character of each harvest.

Viticulture and Vinification

This blend is composed of Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru vineyards of Aÿ, Bouzy and Ambonnay, Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Meunier from Leuvrigny. The base wines were fermented in stainless steel and small oak barrels before blending. Secondary fermentation and maturation on the lees lasted 5 years prior to disgorgement, followed by over 7 years of bottle ageing.

Tasting Notes

Champagne Deutz Brut Vintage 2012 is a brilliant gold with an extremely fine mousse.

Enticing aromas of lemon peel, nectarine, brioche, marzipan and orange blossom leap from the glass.

The palate shows outstanding complexity – flavours of baked apple, pear, golden raisin, honey and pastry cream, balanced by vibrant acidity.

The finish is long and mineral-laced.
