Bellefontaine, Merlot
Languedoc-Roussillon | France
Vibrantly aromatic on the nose, leading to a soft and plummy palate. Jammy, sweet fruit on the finish with smooth tannins supplying structure and length.
About the Producer
This fruit-forward, easy-drinking Merlot is made from grapes sourced from sun-drenched Languedoc vineyards, where the warm mediterranean climate enables grape flavours to develop fully whilst retaining their deliciously characterful flavours. The grapes are vinified at lower temperatures than most reds to preserve primary fruit characters and to showcase their varietal characteristics. The wine receives twice daily remontage to extract colour and tannins. Meticulous blending produced the ultimate approachable and fruit-driven style, which was bottled early to capture vibrant red fruit.
Food Pairing
Soft and pliable red capable of matching with most foods. Easy choice for a devout red drinker. Try with mushroom risotto.
