Morvenna, White Rum, 20cl

Made by The Cornish Distilling Co. in Bude, Morvenna is one of the first genuinely British rums to be fermented and distilled entirely from scratch in Cornwall. The distillery was founded in 2017 by Richard and Fionagh Harding and Head Distiller Tom Read, with the aim of creating authentic British rum on the North Cornish coast. Molasses is fermented and twice distilled before the spirit is diluted with Cornish spring water and rested in steel tanks.
The name Morvenna has strong Cornish connections. It references Saint Morwenna, patron saint of nearby Morwenstow, while Morven is associated with the Cornish word for a sea maiden or mermaid — a fitting inspiration for a rum made overlooking the Atlantic coast.

Tasting Note

Fresh and fruity, with aromas of sugarcane, banana and soft tropical fruit. The palate is gently sweet and creamy, with ripe banana, lime, candied peel and a subtle peppery spice. Hints of white chocolate and vanilla lead to a smooth, buttery finish.
