Maracame Plata Silver Tequila 70cl, 38%

The Camarena Family is one of the big players in the UK’s growing tequila market with a variety of agave products available. Their lineage spreads as far back as the early 18th century when their ancestors co-founded the town of Arandas where their distillery can be found today. 1860 saw the family plant their own agave estates and 1931 was when Don Agustin Camarena founded Casa Casco Viejo. The Maracame is Don Agustin’s most premium tequila in the Camarena family’s range, The bottle design takes influence from Mara’akame – an ancestral medicine man who is believed to to have served as a spiritual guide throughout Huichol culture. He is represented by the presence of a handmade bead decoration, hand-crafted by the local Huichol people. Homegrown Piñas are baked for a long 84 hours, cooled slowly before crushing and fermented with a Champagne yeast for just over 84 hours. The Maracame is then distilled low and slow to retain much more flavour which results in a premium tequila with a nose of soft, medium bodied summery fruits and pepper. On the tongue develops notes of agave, coconut and mango.
