Casco Viejo Agave Reposado Tequila
The Camarena Family is one of the big players in the UK’s growing tequila market with a variety of agave products available. Their lineage spreads as far back as the early 18th century when their ancestors co-founded the town of Arandas where their distillery can be found today. 1860 saw the family plant their own agave estates and 1931 was when Don Agustin Camarena founded Casa Casco Viejo. Homegrown Piñas are baked for 48 hours. cooled slowly before crushing and fermented with a cultured yeast for 48-60 hours. The Viejo is then double distilled before being aged in white oak casks for a minimum of a year to create a toasted agave, peppery and spicy Tequila with hints of earthy vanilla.
